On the Road: Robin at RedState

I stepped out of the district briefly today to visit some good friends that are the driving force behind RedState.com, the preeminent site for conservative activists on the web. Erick Erickson and his team pulled together a great program headlined by an old friend (and possibly future Senator from Texas) Michael Williams, Former Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio and Liz Cheney. I was proud to get to know Micheal as Chairman of the Tennessee Republican Party. Our paths would cross at national meetings due to his service as Vice Chairman of the Texas GOP and he is an inspirational leader with great things ahead. Naturally, I’m proud to see officials in our party take roles in elected leadership.

Liz Cheney gave one of the most concise arguments on behalf of our party I have heard in while. Her indictments of the errors that have already been made by the current administration where right on point and she is a strong voice for the the party’s future. I hope there is a campaign in her’s.

It was good to see some Tennesseans at the event as well. Ken Marrero, one our our leading conservative bloggers was on hand to lend his thoughts on online and offline activism. It’s inspiring to me top have so many Tennesseans taking the lead in shaping the future of our state and nation.
