Oscar Brock Comments On FEC Filings
CHATTANOOGA, October 16 – Oscar Brock, Treasurer for the campaign of Third District Congressional Candidate Robin Smith issued the following statement on the campaign’s October Quarterly filing with the Federal Election Commission: “We are greatly pleased with not only the amount of money raised for Robin’s campaign, but also with the pillars of the community represented by the contributors listed in the report. From business to community leaders, they are the strength of the Third District and they understand that Robin Smith is the candidate in this race with the background, experience and judgment to best represent the people of East Tennessee in Washington. The reports demonstrate the broad base of support for the campaign as Robin is the only candidate in the race to raise more than $100,000 from contributors. In fact, she raised more than 260% of the amount raised by her closest Republican competitor during the quarter. It is important to note that this amount was achieved without the benefit of a major fundraising event and without loans from Robin to artificially inflate the number. Clearly the numbers from all the candidate reports filed show that Robin Smith has the momentum in the race. We look forward to the next few months when her record of fighting for our values for two decades will stand up favorably to the record of any other candidate in the race, Republican or Democrat.” Brock is the son of former United States Senator and Third District Congressman Bill Brock. He and his family reside on Lookout Mountain. |
