Smith to Participate in National Pro-Life Event
HIXSON, TN – Third District Congressional Candidate Robin Smith will join pro-life leaders from across the United States for the Susan B. Anthony List “Celebration of Life” breakfast on Friday, May 14. Susan B. Anthony list is one of the preeminent pro-life organizations in America, seeking to advance the cause of the unborn through advocacy, education and promotion of pro-life women in elective politics. Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will serve as the featured speaker for this important national event. On February 4, 2010, Susan B. Anthony List endorsed Smith in the Republican Primary for the seat being vacated by Zach Wamp. In announcing the endorsement, SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said, “Robin is a woman of diverse experience, and her background as a nurse will be especially critical to our efforts to defend the consciences of pro-life medical providers. Robin will be a welcome addition to the House Pro-Life Women’s Caucus and an outstanding leader for Tennessee’s 3rd district.” Smith joins national leaders such as Representative Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and Representative Sue Myrick (R-NC) as SBA List endorsed candidates. “I am honored to join pro-life leaders from across America and to hear from Governor Palin about the importance of protecting life,” Smith said. “As one of only twelve candidates across the nation to earn the endorsement of Susan B. Anthony List, I am grateful for their support of my campaign and for the invitation to meet with pro-life leaders to chart a better course. Our nation needs a new course that honors the sanctity of life from conception and throughout our days. My twenty years of work in life issues and other conservative causes has been recognized by SBA List and the other great conservative organizations that have endorsed my campaign. I look forward to working with them in partnership to bring Tennessee values to the Congress.” |
