Smith Posts Largest Contribution Total of Campaign

HIXSON, APRIL 15 – Surpassing all previous quarterly standards by any candidate in the campaign for Tennessee’s Third District seat in Congress, Robin Smith today reported more than $159,000 raised in her most recent report to the Federal Election Commission. This quarter brings Smith’s total raised to $399,619. She reported receiving donations from more than 800 individual contributors to the campaign since entering the race on July 1, 2009.

“Every day I am humbled and inspired by the faith people have shown in contributing to my campaign for Congress,” Smith said. “The average contribution I receive is less than $250. That’s a great statement from hard working Americans who have looked at the choices in this race and decided I am the person they believe will stand up for them in Washington. By digging into their wallets during tough economic times, they make a clear statement that they want someone who isn’t timid, who will make sure my deeds in Washington match my words on the trail and who isn’t an empty media package with no record of service.
