State Representative Gerald McCormick Endorses Robin Smith
HIXSON, TN – Third District Congressional Candidate Robin Smith today received the endorsement of Tennessee State Representative Gerald McCormick (R-Chattanooga). A member of the 104th – 106thGeneral Assemblies, McCormick currently serves as the Assistant Republican Leader of the Tennessee House of Representatives. In endorsing Smith, McCormick said, “There has been no more consistent and steadfast friend to Hamilton County Republicans and Republicans across Tennessee than Robin Smith. Whether it has been standing up to the income tax, or fighting for the values that make us strong, Robin has been there for us and, in 2010, I encourage the voters of the Third District to be there for her.” “In tasks that range from working as a volunteer in a small county race to leading our party to an historic statewide triumph in 2008 as Chairman of the Party, Robin’s commitment never waivers and her resolve never fails. I was privileged to stand beside her as Vice Chairman as we built the Republican Party in Hamilton County into one of the best in the state and I have no doubt she will turn that same energy to tackling the problems in Washington. Whether it is out of control spending, crushing federal mandates or a health care takeover that seizes control of 1/6 of our economy, I believe there is no problem she will flinch from confronting.” “I want to thank my dear friend Gerald McCormick for his support and his faith in my abilities,” Smith said. “Gerald is part of a young energetic leadership that is changing the way we do business in Tennessee. In the fights to come, it will be critical that we have partners in the state who will work with us as we begin the task of reigning in the disastrous overreach we have seen from the Obama/Pelosi liberals in Washington. By working with our friends in the state, we can return our government to its intended role and make it again a servant of the people.” |
