Smith Recieves Endorsement of Susan B. Anthony List

HIXSON, FEB 4 – Susan B. Anthony List, the nation’s leading advocacy group for pro-life women in politics, has endorsed Robin Smith in Tennessee’s Third District Congressional Primary.

The mission of Susan B. Anthony List is the advancing, mobilizing and representation of pro-life women in national and state politics. Among the leaders supported by SBA List are Representatives Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, Cathy McMorris Rodgers of Washington and Tennessee Congressman Marsha Blackburn. Following the recent announcement of support for Smith by Congressman Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), she noted momentum of conservative individuals and organizations rallying behind her campaign.

In endorsing Smith, SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said, “Robin Smith will be an authentic pro-life voice and passionate advocate for women and unborn children in the halls of Congress.  Health care reform legislation could open the floodgates to taxpayer-funded abortion, and we need women like Robin to defend the consciences of pro-life American taxpayers.”

As more national conservative leaders join voters in the Third District in supporting our efforts, it becomes clear that I am the candidate people believe will best represent the values of Tennessee in Washington. SBA List has recognized that I will not only stand up for the rights of the unborn in Congress but I will work to promote alternatives to abortion that value each human life. I have long said that being pro-life is not just a matter of opposing abortion. There is much work to be done in the areas of human trafficking and improving our adoption laws to help young mothers make the right choices. I am ready to get to work on these issues and thank Susan B. Anthony List for their faith and support.”
